MUNICIPAL INSPECTION UNCOVERS 1.2 TONNES OF EXPIRED FOOD

Approximately 1.2 tonnes of expired food products were seized and destroyed during an inspection carried out by Bodrum Municipality’s Municipal Police Department.
The inspection took place at a food business operating in the industrial estate in Bahçelievler Neighbourhood. It was conducted under the coordination of Bodrum Municipality’s Municipal Police Department, with the participation of the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Cleaning Affairs Directorate.
During the checks, large quantities of expired food products were identified. Following the necessary procedures, approximately 1,200 kilograms of expired food was confiscated and destroyed.
Administrative action has been initiated against the business in accordance with the relevant legislation. A legal process has also been launched to terminate the business activity and seal the premises.
Bodrum Municipality’s Municipal Police Department will continue its inspections in cooperation with relevant institutions to protect public health and ensure access to safe food across the district.
