NEW VEHICLES TO BOOST MUNICIPAL SERVICES ACROSS BODRUM
16.07.2026
Bodrum Municipality has added 15 new vehicles to its fleet in 2026 as part of its efforts to deliver municipal services more quickly, efficiently and effectively across the district.
The new vehicles were introduced to the public at a ceremony held at Bodrum Municipality Square on Thursday, 16 July, with the participation of Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, deputy mayors, municipal council members, neighbourhood heads, department directors, municipal staff, residents and members of the press.
With the latest additions, the number of new vehicles added to the municipal inventory over the past two years has reached 48, with a total value of 152,236,198.51 TL.
In 2026, Bodrum Municipality added 10 vehicles to its fleet using its own resources, at a cost of 54,621,344.02 TL. These include one 8+1 service vehicle, one asphalt repair and maintenance vehicle with an 8-cubic-metre bunker capacity, two 14-cubic-metre tipper trucks, one road sweeper, three backhoe loaders and two double-cab pick-up trucks.
In addition, one 8+1-cubic-metre refuse collection truck donated by the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye and four small refuse collection vehicles donated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change were also added to the municipal inventory.
The strengthened fleet is expected to increase operational capacity in cleaning services, road maintenance and repair, infrastructure, public works and field operations, allowing municipal services to be carried out more quickly and efficiently in Bodrum’s 56 neighbourhoods.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci said the municipality has made significant investments in vehicles, machinery and equipment since taking office.
“Today, we are pleased to put 15 of the 48 vehicles added to our fleet during our term into service. Bodrum needs faster and more effective municipal services as its population and needs continue to grow. With this awareness, we are renewing our vehicles and equipment and strengthening our inventory,” Mayor Mandalinci said.
He stated that 10 of the vehicles purchased in 2026 were acquired through the municipality’s own resources, while additional vehicles were added through grants from public institutions. Mandalinci also noted that six more vehicles, whose payments have been completed, will join the fleet in August.
“Our aim is to minimise the use of rented vehicles and to carry out municipal services entirely with our own resources, our own vehicles and our own staff. We will continue investing until all our services can be delivered with the municipality’s own fleet,” he said.
Mayor Mandalinci thanked municipal staff for their dedicated work and added that the new vehicles would contribute to faster, more effective and higher-quality services for residents.
