THE FIRST SUNSET CHILDREN’S BEACH FOOTBALL FESTIVAL CONCLUDES IN BODRUM

The first Sunset Children’s Beach Football Festival, organised by Bodrum Municipality in cooperation with the Turkish Football Federation, concluded at Turgutreis Sunset Beach with final matches and a closing ceremony.
Held by the Sports Services Office under Bodrum Municipality’s Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Directorate, the three-day festival brought together youth teams from amateur football clubs operating in Bodrum. A total of 19 matches were played, giving young players the opportunity to experience beach football at sunset in an atmosphere shaped by sport, friendship and fair play.
The closing programme was attended by Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, Deputy Mayors Kanat Hasan Özsert and Tolga Karademir, neighbourhood heads, representatives of amateur sports clubs, Beach Football National Team Head Coach Ozan Yılmaz, coaches, players and families.
Before the closing ceremony, an exhibition match was held with the participation of children, Mayor Mandalinci and Deputy Mayor Özsert. The match attracted strong interest from families and created colourful scenes on the beach.
Following the exhibition match, all participating athletes were presented with medals and certificates of participation. The final match of the festival was played between Bodrum Gençspor and Bodrum Birlikspor, bringing the event to a successful close.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Mandalinci announced that sports events at Sunset Beach would continue, stating that a beach volleyball tournament would also be organised in the same area.
Bodrum Municipality will continue to organise events that encourage children’s interest in sport and strengthen the values of friendship, solidarity and fair play.
