WINNING DESIGNS ANNOUNCED FOR BODRUM’S HISTORIC WINDMILLS

The Bodrum Değirmenburnu Historic Windmills and Surrounding Area Ideas Competition, organised by Bodrum Municipality in partnership with the Bodrum Representative Office of the Chamber of Architects, has concluded.
Of the 78 projects submitted, 76 were admitted for assessment. Following the jury meetings held between 8 and 12 July 2026, three joint prizes, five joint honourable mentions and two purchase awards were presented.
The competition invited original proposals for the conservation and enhancement of Değirmenburnu in Gümbet, one of Bodrum’s most recognisable landmarks, with particular emphasis on its historical, natural and cultural character.

Bodrum Municipality congratulates the award-winning teams and thanks all participants for their contributions to the future of this important heritage site.
The submitted projects will be exhibited during the competition colloquium in Bodrum on 1 August 2026.
