MAYOR MANDALİNCİ MEETS NEIGHBOURHOOD HEADS

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci met with neighbourhood heads following the July Ordinary Municipal Council Meeting.
The meeting, held at Herodot Cultural Centre, was attended by representatives of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, deputy mayors, Bodrum Neighbourhood Heads’ Association President Ahmet Cemil Gündüz, AYDEM and MUSKİ officials, relevant municipal department heads and neighbourhood heads.
During the meeting, the priority needs of neighbourhoods, ongoing works, and requests, suggestions and complaints received from residents were discussed. Neighbourhood heads shared their views and demands, while representatives of the relevant institutions provided information on the issues raised and exchanged views on possible solutions.
The meeting also included a briefing on the Bodrum Neighbourhood Academy, launched in cooperation between Bodrum Municipality’s Directorate of Neighbourhood Affairs and the Bodrum Neighbourhood Heads’ Association.
Covering the period from June 2026 to June 2027, the programme aims to strengthen the professional knowledge and capacity of neighbourhood heads, improve the effectiveness of services provided to residents, and increase social awareness.
The first session of the Bodrum Neighbourhood Academy included an information presentation on leukaemia. Over the course of the one-year programme, neighbourhood heads will receive training from specialists on topics including neighbourhood head legislation, first aid, time and crisis management, Alzheimer’s disease and communication with patients’ relatives, sign language, artificial intelligence and digital applications.
The training calendar and programme details will be shared with the public in the coming period.
