WEED CLEARANCE WORKS CONTINUE TO REDUCE FIRE RISK IN BODRUM
Weed clearance works launched by Bodrum Municipality’s Parks and Recreation  Areas Directorate in May continued without interruption throughout June in line with the planned programme across the district.

Carried out to reduce fire risk, maintain environmental order and protect the appearance of public spaces, the works covered parks, green areas, roadsides and pavements.

In May, teams cleared 97,188 square metres of green space and 57,183 metres of roadsides and pavements. In June, a further 86,709 square metres of green space and 178,619 metres of roadsides and pavements were cleared.

Over the two-month period, Bodrum Municipality teams carried out weed clearance across a total of 183,897 square metres of green space and 235,802 metres of roadsides and pavements.

The Parks and Gardens Directorate will continue weed clearance works across the district throughout the summer season, in line with residents’ requests and the planned work schedule.
