BODRUM MUNICIPALITY LAUNCHES FREE SUMMER SWIMMING COURSES FOR CHILDREN
02.07.2026
The July stage of Bodrum Municipality’s free summer swimming courses for children aged 5 to 13 has begun. Held in two stages throughout the summer, the courses aim to provide free swimming lessons to around 1,000 children this year.
Organised by Bodrum Municipality’s Directorate of Operations and Subsidiaries, the first stage is now under way, while applications for the second stage, to be held in August, will open on 15 July.
This year, the courses are being delivered entirely through the municipality’s own resources, with municipal instructors and lifeguards. To help children focus more effectively during lessons, parents are not admitted to the pool area. However, they are able to follow the sessions live via screens in the waiting area, connected to cameras placed at different points around the pool.
Commenting on the courses, Deputy Mayor Kanat Hasan Özsert said Bodrum Municipality continues to bring children together with sport, adding that the aim is to provide free swimming training to around 1,000 children this summer.
Özsert noted that running the courses with the municipality’s own instructors and lifeguards is an important achievement, and stressed that all preparations have been carried out carefully to ensure a safe and productive training process for children.
He also stated that, in line with Mayor Tamer Mandalinci’s emphasis on children’s development and sport, Bodrum Municipality will continue to expand its free courses and sports activities for children in the coming period.
