BODRUM MUNICIPALITY SUPPORTS 4,528 RESIDENTS THROUGH WOMEN AND FAMLY SERVICES

Bodrum Municipality’s Women and Family Services Directorate has provided support to 4,528 residents since 1 April 2024 through its legal, psychological, social support and counselling services.


Working within the framework of Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and the Prevention of Violence Against Women, the directorate offers services to support women, children and families across the district. Support is provided by a multidisciplinary team including lawyers, psychologists, social workers, sociologists, dietitians, child development specialists, nurses and instructors.

Since 1 April 2024, the Women’s Counselling Centre has delivered 488 legal counselling sessions, 944 healthy nutrition counselling sessions, 276 social support services and 1,146 psychological support services. A further 1,674 people have received counselling remotely.

The directorate also continues its work through the Feyzullah Cengiz Başokutan Health and Social Facility, Women’s Life Centres in Bitez and Çiftlik, and the Sevgi Art Workshops in Gümbet and Yakaköy. These centres provide activities that support social participation, skills development, production, solidarity and wellbeing.

As part of its family- and child-focused work, more than 300 families and children have been reached through 16 workshops. Public information activities also continue across the Bodrum Peninsula, with 5,096 informative brochures distributed to date.

Bodrum Municipality will continue its work to reach residents in need, strengthen social solidarity and improve the quality of life of women, children and families across the district.
