BODRUM MUNICIPALITY RENEWS CHILDREN’S PARK IN TURGUTREIS

Bodrum Municipality has completed maintenance, repair and renewal works at the children’s park located on Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard in Turgutreis Neighbourhood. As part of the improvements, sports equipment suitable for individuals with special needs was also installed.

The works were carried out by Bodrum Municipality’s Parks and Gardens Directorate, which placed safe, modern and accessible equipment in the park for public use. In the approximately 700-square-metre area, teams renewed the swings and sports equipment, while also replacing the accessible walking platform, weightlifting equipment and pull-up bars.

Accessible Sports Equipment Installed

To enable individuals with special needs to exercise more comfortably, the Parks and Gardens Directorate installed accessible hand and foot rotation equipment, arm-strengthening units, upright and inclined weight training equipment, and body exercise units. A double swing, wooden walking platform and maze equipment were also added to the park.

The climbing play unit, seesaw, tower play group and swings were renewed as well, making both the play and sports areas of the park more functional, inclusive and accessible.

Renewal and Maintenance Works Across the District

Since January 2026, Bodrum Municipality’s Parks and Gardens Directorate has renewed 18 children’s play groups, nine eight-piece outdoor fitness equipment sets and seven basketball hoops as part of its park improvement works across the district. Regular maintenance and repair works are also carried out on play groups and sports equipment in parks throughout Bodrum.

The Parks and Gardens Directorate will continue maintenance, repair and renewal works in parks and green areas across the district, aiming to provide safe, inclusive and accessible social spaces for residents of all ages.

Commenting on the works carried out in parks across Bodrum, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci said:

“Our aim is to transform parks and social areas into living spaces that can be used safely and comfortably by residents of all ages and backgrounds. In this context, renewal works have been carried out at the children’s park on Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard. It is pleasing to introduce sports equipment designed for individuals with special needs to this children’s park in Turgutreis, one of Bodrum’s important neighbourhoods. Improvement works will continue so that every individual can take a more active part in social life.”
