PUBLIC AREA REGULATION WORKS BEGIN IN GÜMBET

Teams from Bodrum Municipality’s Municipal Police Traffic Unit and Bodrum District Police Department’s Traffic Branch have begun joint field operations ahead of the comprehensive inspection and regulation works scheduled to start across the district on 7 July 2026.
The first operation was carried out at the Gümbet Marketplace Car Park in Cevat Şakir Neighbourhood. As part of the work, carried out to ensure that public areas in the district are used in a safe and orderly manner, inspections were conducted on old vehicles, caravans and boats that had been left in the car park for an extended period.
During the operation, four long-parked older vehicles, two caravans and one boat were removed from the area. Some of the vehicles were taken away by tow trucks called by their owners, while others were removed directly by their owners. No administrative or penal action was taken during the operation.
Officials stated that, as of 7 July, inspection and regulation works will continue across Bodrum against unused items, personal belongings, long-parked vehicles and similar objects that occupy public areas or create visual pollution. Residents are asked to take the necessary measures by the specified date and remove any belongings left in public spaces.
