BODRUM’S BUSY CENTRAL STREETS UNDERGO COMPREHENSIVE CLEANING
25.06.2026
Bodrum Municipality’s Cleaning Affairs Directorate continues its routine cleaning activities across the district, while also carrying out comprehensive cleaning works at regular intervals.
A detailed cleaning programme was implemented in Çarşı Neighbourhood, one of Bodrum’s central locations and an area frequently visited by both local and international guests. As part of the works, Cumhuriyet Street, commonly known as Barlar Sokağı, along with Kale Street and the side streets connected to these main routes, underwent washing, marble surface cleaning, mechanical sweeping and disinfection with treated water during the early hours of the morning.
A team of 15 personnel, consisting of 10 staff members, three operators and two supervisors, carried out the work using six vehicles. The teams used a 4-tonne water tanker, a 9-cubic-metre refuse collection vehicle, 8- and 2-cubic-metre road sweepers, a 2-cubic-metre marble cleaning vehicle and a mobile response vehicle to complete the comprehensive cleaning operation in the area.
It was stated that detailed cleaning and disinfection works aimed at improving hygiene standards in public spaces will continue in different neighbourhoods at planned intervals.
The works, particularly in areas that experience high footfall during the summer season, aim to ensure that streets and public spaces have a cleaner, healthier and more orderly appearance.
