As part of the Admiral Turgut Reis Commemoration Events, organised by Bodrum Municipality’s Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Directorate, a talk titled “From the Shores of Karabağ to the Mediterranean: In the Footsteps of Turgut Reis” will be held today, Monday, 22 June, at 20.30 at Şevket Sabancı Culture and Arts Centre. The talk will be delivered by researcher Tarık Eray Çakır.

The programme will continue on Tuesday, 23 June, with a commemoration ceremony to be held in front of the Turgut Reis Statue in Karabağ at 19.00. Following the ceremony, a cortege march will set off from in front of Migros in Turgutreis at 20.30, accompanied by a performance by the İncirliova Mehter Band.

At 21.30, a commemorative concert will be performed by the Southern Naval Area Command Band at Turgutreis Atatürk Square. The programme will conclude at 22.30 with the serving of traditional lokma in front of Turgutreis Yalı Mosque.

All residents are invited to attend the events, which are open to the public and free of charge.
