INTERNATIONAL BODRUM HALIKARNAS DANCE FESTIVAL BRINGS COLOUR TO TURGUTREİS

The International Bodrum Halikarnas Dance Festival, organised with the support of Bodrum Municipality in cooperation with the IFDO International Folk Dance Organization and the Federation of Central Anatolian Folklore Associations, was held at Turgutreis Atatürk Square.
A total of 475 dancers from Türkiye, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria and Mongolia performed at the festival, which attracted strong interest from residents. Deputy Mayor Kanat Hasan Özsert and Municipal Council Member Damla Tok attended the event on behalf of Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci.
Throughout the festival, dance groups from different countries and cultures took to the stage, with their colourful performances receiving great appreciation from the audience. Performances by the Datça Municipality Rhythm Ensemble and the Ankara Folklore Education and Youth Association were also followed with interest.
Before the event, dancers and instructors who had travelled to Bodrum for the festival met Bodrum Deputy Mayor Kanat Hasan Özsert at Bodrum Municipality’s Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Directorate. During the visit, Salih Ünsoy, President of the Federation of Central Anatolian Folklore Associations, thanked Mayor Tamer Mandalinci for the municipality’s support for the festival.
Deputy Mayor Kanat Hasan Özsert also thanked the IFDO International Folk Dance Organization and the Federation of Central Anatolian Folklore Associations for organising an event that strengthens ties of friendship, affection and fraternity between countries.
At the end of the programme, plaques of appreciation were presented to the representatives of the groups that had come to Bodrum for the festival.
