MAYOR MANDALİNCİ MARKS 1 MAY WITH MESSAGE ON LABOUR AND SOLIDARITY
30.04.2026
Mayor Tamer Mandalinci has issued a written message to mark 1 May Labour and Solidarity Day, drawing attention to the value of labour and solidarity in the face of growing economic pressures.
In his statement, Mayor Mandalinci extended his greetings to all workers and labourers whose efforts sustain daily life, from streets and workshops to ports, construction sites, hospitals, classrooms and agricultural land.
Mayor Mandalinci said that, although cities continue to grow, production methods are changing and technology is advancing rapidly, human labour remains at the centre of all transformation. He added that the recent economic squeeze, rising cost of living and pressure on household budgets had made the role of labour in everyday life even more visible.
Mayor Mandalinci also said that as working life changes, concerns over insecurity, income inequality and living standards are being felt more strongly. He noted that young people’s expectations for the future, the visibility of women in production, and the challenges faced by workers across different sectors now form part of a shared social agenda.
Mayor Mandalinci said urban life becomes stronger when labour is recognised and valued in every field, adding that sustainable production, social balance and a higher quality of life depend on a human-centred and fair approach that places labour at its heart.
Describing 1 May as a day on which solidarity is remembered and the idea of a shared future gains renewed strength, Mayor Mandalinci said he respected everyone whose work makes life possible and would continue working for a stronger social structure.
Mayor Mandalinci concluded by wishing all workers and labourers a meaningful 1 May Labour, Struggle and Solidarity Day.
