MAYOR MANDALİNCİ MARKS 23 APRIL WITH CHILDREN’S DAY MESSAGE
22.04.2026
Mayor Tamer Mandalinci has issued a message to mark 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
In his message, Mayor Mandalinci said:
“23 April is the name of a very special day on which the destiny of this country was rewritten through the will of the people. It is the clearest expression of the trust, belief and responsibility placed in children, who are the strongest guarantee of the future. Today, the world we live in is going through a period of rapid change, uncertainty and, at times, deepening inequalities. In such a time, reflecting on the kind of future our children will inherit has become a shared responsibility. Because the future of a country lies in how its children are raised. A street where a child can play safely, a school where they can access quality education, a town where they can connect with nature, and a life in which they can express themselves freely are among the clearest signs of a strong society. With this understanding, I see it as a priority in every step we take to improve children’s quality of life, to create space for their dreams, and to ensure that they can look to the future with confidence. At the heart of the work we are carrying out in Bodrum is the goal of building a town where children can lead healthier, safer and better-quality lives. A child’s dream shapes the future of a town. Because we know that the true strength of a town is measured by the hope in its children’s faces. This resolve has been shaped by a deep trust in children, who are the rightful owners of tomorrow. It is the shared duty of us all to nurture that trust and to leave a stronger country to future generations. On the anniversary of the historic will that declared to the whole world that sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation, I remember with respect and gratitude, first and foremost, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all the founders of our Republic, and I wish for a future in which the light in our children’s eyes never fades and their hopes continue to grow with each passing day. Happy 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.”
