MUNICIPALITY PRESSES AHEAD WITH WASTE CONTAINER RENEWAL ACROSS THE PENINSULA
01.04.2026
Bodrum Municipality continues the distribution of new waste containers across the district as part of its wider cleaning and hygiene programme.
Under work carried out by the Directorate of Cleaning Services, old containers that can no longer be repaired are being removed and replaced with new ones. Distribution is being carried out in a planned manner across the peninsula in line with requests received and needs identified on site.
So far, a total of 1,400 containers have been installed within Bodrum Municipality’s areas of responsibility. Once the planned works across all neighbourhoods are completed, more than 1,700 containers will have been made available for public use.
Maintenance for Containers Still in Use
Containers that remain fit for service are also undergoing repair and maintenance by the Directorate’s container repair and maintenance team. Through these works, the municipality aims to keep containers safe, durable and practical to use, while also supporting environmental cleanliness and creating a tidier appearance in neighbourhoods.
Cleaning & Disinfection Work Continues
Teams from the Directorate of Cleaning Services are also continuing washing and disinfection works in order to support a cleaner and healthier urban environment. To avoid disrupting daily use, the cleaning is carried out on site with pressurised and foaming water.
Commenting on the work, Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci said the municipality was continuing container renewal alongside its cleaning and hygiene efforts in order to strengthen environmental cleanliness and contribute to the town’s appearance. He added that the municipality would continue its work without interruption, with a focus on delivering the best possible service.
