BODRUM MUNICIPALITY SEARCH & RESCUE TEAM EARNS AFAD ACCREDITATION BADGES

Bodrum Municipality’s Search and Rescue Team (BAK) has received AFAD accreditation badges following the successful completion of a long period of preparation and training.
The badge presentation ceremony was held at the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management, with the participation of Bodrum Municipality’s Directorate of Disaster Affairs and Risk Management. The achievement marked an important step in the municipality’s efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and emergency response capacity.
Also taking part in the ceremony were the Muğla Representation of the SAR Search and Rescue and Emergency Aid Association, Fethiye MAGAME, MEB AKUB and the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department. The coming together of different institutions once again highlighted the importance of coordination and cooperation in disaster response.
Following theoretical and practical training delivered by AFAD, Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, the teams successfully completed the Level 1 Search and Rescue Accreditation Examination and earned the right to carry AFAD accreditation badges for three years.
During this period, the teams will continue to take an active role in disasters and emergencies, maintaining their professional response capacity in the field. At the end of the three-year term, they will sit a renewal examination in order to update their accreditation.
Bodrum Municipality BAK team will continue its work without interruption to further strengthen preparedness and intervention capacity in the face of disasters.
