Bodrum Municipality has launched its annual neighbourhood iftar programme for Ramadan, with residents coming together each evening at shared tables in a different neighbourhood.

Attendance Across Neighbourhoods

The first iftar was held in the Türkbükü neighbourhood, followed by events in Bitez, Bodrum Centre and Müskebi neighbourhoods. At the iftar meal in Bitez Market Place, more than 1,200 residents were hosted. For the programme at Bodrum Centre Market Place, preparations were made for 2,500 portions.

Throughout Ramadan, preparation, production and service for the iftar tables across the peninsula’s neighbourhoods are being delivered by Bodrum Municipality Food Inc. catering teams (a municipally owned company of Bodrum Municipality). Up to 18 March, events will be held in a different neighbourhood each day, with meal planning based on neighbourhood population density. Preparations are carried out with an emphasis on hygiene, quality and coordination.

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci said the programme brings the spirit of sharing associated with Ramadan into neighbourhood life. He thanked municipal staff involved in the organisation and invited residents to take part in the neighbourhood iftar tables.

Programme Continues

The neighbourhood iftar programme will continue on Monday, 23 February at Konacık-Çırkan neighbourhood Çırkan Market Place, on Tuesday, 24 February at Gölköy neighbourhood Old Market Place, and on Wednesday, 25 February in Dağbelen neighbourhood, in front of the neighbourhood head’s office.

Announcements about the iftar programme can be followed via Bodrum Municipality’s official website and social media accounts.
