MÜSKEBİ JUNCTION SCHEME COMPLETED WITH LANDSCAPING AND MANDARIN TREE FEATURE

A further project aimed at easing traffic congestion in Bodrum has been completed following the latest on-site works.

The junction scheme at the intersection of Cumhuriyet Street in Müskebi neighbourhood with Düzalan Street and Mehmet Türedi Street has now been finalised. Completion followed landscaping works at the junction and the installation of a mandarin tree feature in place of the previous figure.

The location has experienced traffic disruption for many years. After the necessary permissions were obtained from the relevant public bodies through the initiative of  Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, teams from the Public Works Directorate began works in the area. The road surface was repaired, kerbs and the central median were reconfigured, and pavements and roadside parking bays were reorganised. The local bus stop was also relocated to a more suitable position.

Following an inspection at the junction, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci said the completed work addressed a long-standing expectation of local residents and businesses, and that the changes have improved traffic flow in the area. He added that a Bodrum mandarin tree feature, bearing 48 mandarins and intended to symbolise Bodrum’s labour, land and future, has been placed at the junction. He noted that other measures to reduce traffic density are expected to accelerate when weather conditions are suitable.
