BODRUM MUNICIPALITY EXPANDS ZERO WASTE EDUCATION FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

The Directorate of Cleaning Services is continuing its Zero Waste Education Programme, designed to strengthen environmental awareness among children.
Environmental engineers and technicians delivering the programme have so far visited 41 schools during the first two phases planned for the 2025–2026 academic year, reaching 2,650 students. The most recent session took place at Gündoğan Nafiz Ilıcak Primary School, where pupils learned about environmental protection, preventing pollution and simple steps that support a sustainable future.
The municipality plans to launch the third phase of the programme for secondary school students, aiming to raise environmental awareness among a total of 5,000 young people across the district.
