MUNICIPAL POLICE STEP UP INSPECTIONS ACROSS BODRUM

Bodrum Municipal Police (Zabıta) teams continue round-the-clock inspections aimed at protecting public health and preventing environmental pollution.


During January, the 5th Regional Municipal Police Department (Zabıta) carried out inspections at 33 businesses. In one inspection in Çiftlik neighbourhood, teams found a supermarket selling 412 items of out-of-date products across 28 different categories. The products were taken into custody for disposal, and legal action was initiated against the business under the Municipal Police Implementation Regulation.

75.000 TLs Fine for Illegal Dumping

In a separate enforcement action, the Municipal Police imposed an administrative fine of 75,000 Turkish liras on an individual found to have illegally dumped construction waste and debris, in accordance with Article 41/4 of the Misdemeanours Law.

Municipal Police (Zabıta) officials stated that inspections targeting food retailers as well as individuals and vehicles causing environmental pollution will continue 24/7, and encouraged residents to report any problems they encounter to the municipality.
