COMPREHENSIVE WORKS UNDERWAY AT THE GÜMBET RECLAMATION AREA

A comprehensive improvement programme is being carried out at the Gümbet Reclamation Area in cooperation with the Bodrum District Governorship, Bodrum Municipality, the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, the Bodrum National Property Directorate, and the Bodrum Regional Port Authority.
As part of the works, long-idle boats and unauthorised pontoons are being removed. Bodrum Municipality teams from Building Control, Municipal Police (Zabıta), Public Works and Support Services are working in coordination to ensure the area can be used by the public safely. Following the removals, Cleaning Affairs teams are carrying out detailed cleaning.
Officials said the works aim to protect coastal areas, prevent environmental pollution and enable residents to make better use of shoreline spaces, adding that activities to safeguard coastal areas and maintain public order will continue under the planned programme.
