₺418,000 FINE IMPOSED ON ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION WASTE DUMPING IN BODRUM

Bodrum Municipality’s Municipal Police (Zabıta) teams continue their uninterrupted inspections across the district as part of efforts to combat environmental pollution. Controls have been intensified particularly in areas prone to illegal dumping, with zero tolerance shown towards practices that cause environmental and visual pollution.
As part of these inspections, eight enforcement actions have been taken since the beginning of the year against individuals found to have illegally dumped construction waste. Under the Misdemeanours Law, administrative fines totalling ₺418,705 have been imposed.
24/7 Continuous Inspections
In a statement, the Municipal Police (Zabıta) Directorate reminded the public that dumping construction waste outside designated areas is strictly prohibited. Teams operating on a 24/7 basis emphasised that legal procedures will be applied decisively against anyone who violates the rules.
Public Reports Strengthen Enforcement
The municipality also highlighted the importance of public cooperation, noting that reports submitted by environmentally conscious residents play a significant role in strengthening efforts to protect the environment.
