BODRUM MUNICIPAL POLICE REPORT EXTENSIVE ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITY IN 2025

Bodrum Municipality’s Municipal Police (Zabıta) Department states it carried out extensive inspections and enforcement actions across 2025, focusing on public health and environmental protection. The municipality reported penalties in multiple areas, including 1,905 actions for environmental pollution (TRY 20.004m), 198 actions linked to noise inspections (TRY 46.485m), and fines for cigarette littering and breaches of construction bans. Routine checks also resulted in penalties for unlicensed businesses.
Enforcement on public-space encroachments continued through the year, with the municipality reporting 621 encroachments identified within 1,258 assessments, alongside additional cases referred for further action. Food and hygiene inspections launched in November are continuing, and the municipality said work on encroachments will increase further in 2026.
Traffic Municipal Police (Trafik Zabıta) also targeted pavement and pedestrian-area parking, reporting 7,255 actions and TRY 21.424m in penalties, while installing bollards, signs and five new motopark areas.
