BODRUM HOLDS ANNUAL NEW YEAR RECEPTION FOR INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

Bodrum Municipality held its annual New Year reception for the international community living in Bodrum at the Hakan Aykan Culture and Arts Centre.
The event, organised on Saturday, 27 December, by the Municipality’s International Relations Office within the Directorate of Media and Public Relations, together with the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs, brought together residents from a wide range of countries. Deputy Mayor Kanat Hasan Özsert attended on behalf of Mayor Tamer Mandalinci.
Live music was provided by Meltem Işın and her band, with guests spending the evening in a festive atmosphere.
In his remarks, Deputy Mayor Özsert conveyed the Mayor’s greetings and thanked participants for attending. He highlighted Bodrum’s multicultural character and said the international community is an important part of the town. Referring to his own background, he noted that he is half Irish and that Christmas has a special place in his family, adding that he was pleased to share the celebration in Bodrum. He also offered seasonal greetings and wished all guests health, peace and happiness in the new year.
Later in the evening, Deputy Mayor Özsert and guests cut the traditional New Year cake. The reception continued into the night with music and entertainment.
