Bodrum Municipality continues to press ahead with surface roadworks on streets and avenues where underground infrastructure works have been completed.

Work is now nearing completion on Bergamut Street in Bitez, where teams from MUSKİ (Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration), AYDEM (electricity distribution teams) and telecommunications teams have carried out works in recent periods. The street has experienced frequent deterioration due to faults and recurring repairs. Bodrum Municipality’s Directorate of Public Works teams began surface works to address these impacts, and the project has reached its final stage.

Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, who inspected the works on site, stated that asphalt works had been completed before the rains in order to reopen the road to traffic, alongside the construction of rainwater lines. He said:

“The 600-metre hot asphalt work is being completed today with a total of 1,200 tonnes of hot asphalt.”

During the inspection, Mayor Mandalinci was accompanied by Bitez Neighbourhood Head Seda Özgüçlü, Deputy Mayor Ahmet Yıldızhan, Municipal Council Member Hüseyin Cem Köylü, and relevant municipal directors.

Kerbs, Pavements and Tree Planting to Follow

Mayor Mandalinci added that works on Bergamut Street would continue with kerbs, pavements and tree planting. He stated:

“As Bodrum Municipality, as we have promised, during the period from winter into summer, our infrastructure and surface works will continue to increase and proceed without slowing down in all neighbourhoods where there is a need.”

The Directorate of Public Works teams will continue hot asphalt works in line with the planned schedule, subject to suitable weather conditions.
