BODRUM MUNICIPALITY EXPANDS GREEN FLEET WITH ELECTRIC STREET SWEEPERS

New fully electric cleaning vehicles strengthen Bodrum’s commitment to a sustainable, quieter and cleaner city
Bodrum Municipality has added a new fleet of fully electric street-sweeping vehicles to its senitation operations, furthering its commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible urban management.
Operated by the Municipal Directorate of Senitation Affairs, the vehicles have been deployed across several neighbourhoods to support comprehensive street-cleaning efforts. Designed for energy efficiency, low noise levels and strong suction power, the new sweepers will help ensure cleaner and quieter streets while significantly reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
Comprehensive Senitation Operations Underway
Extensive cleaning work has already been carried out with the new vehicles in several key areas, including Ayaz Street in Gümbet, Paşatarlası Street in Kumbahçe (from the Teachers’ Lodge to the harbour), and in front of the Municipal Café in Güvercinlik.
According to municipal officials, the introduction of electric sweepers will contribute to lowering carbon emissions while improving both the efficiency and environmental sustainability of cleaning services. Senitation operations will continue in other districts over the coming days as part of a planned citywide schedule.
Cleaner, Quieter, Greener Bodrum
The next-generation electric sweepers are suitable for a wide range of environments, from city centres and industrial areas to pavements, narrow streets, shopping zones, hospitals, factories and public parks. Their compact, versatile design allows for effective cleaning even in areas inaccessible to conventional vehicles.
Through this latest investment, Bodrum Municipality continues to set an example in sustainable urban development, improving residents’ quality of life while protecting the local environment.
