INSPECTIONS CONTINUE IN SCHOOL CANTEENS ACROSS BODRUM

Municipal Police Teams (Zbıta) intensify inspections to ensure students’ access to safe and hygienic food at school canteens
Bodrum Municipality’s Directorate of Municipal Police (Zabıta) has intensified inspections at school canteens across the district as the 2025–2026 academic year begins.
The inspections, conducted by municipal police teams, aim to safeguard students’ health and ensure that all canteens operate under hygienic and lawful conditions.
During the checks, officers examined hygiene standards, product expiration dates, and storage conditions, as well as the display of official price lists, business and operating licences, first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
20 Canteens Subject to Administrative Action
As part of recent inspections, 20 school canteens were found to have various deficiencies and were subjected to administrative action.
Municipal officials emphasised that the inspections are being carried out in accordance with Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers, aiming to protect students from health and safety risks in their learning environments.
Bodrum Municipality confirmed that these controls will continue throughout the school year, underscoring its commitment to public health and student welfare.
