GREEN BODRUM MANDARINS REACH EVERY CORNER OF TÜRKİYE

Bodrum Municipality continues its efforts to promote the region’s most distinctive agricultural product, the geographically-indicated Bodrum Mandarin, through its ongoing “Green Bodrum Mandarin” procurement and distribution programme.
Led by the Directorate of Agricultural Services, the initiative aims to support local producers by purchasing early-harvest mandarins noted for their unique aroma and flavour.
Supporting Local Farmers, Expanding National Reach
As part of this week’s programme, the Municipality purchased 7,600 kilograms of Green Bodrum Mandarins from 15 local producers across the district. Of this total, 7,100 kilograms were delivered to a food company in Mersin, while 500 kilograms were sent to another in Denizli.
To date, the Municipality has procured 12,000 kilograms of Green Bodrum Mandarins, with approximately 2,000 kilograms supplied to restaurants in Istanbul that feature the fruit in their menus.
Available Across Bodrum and Türkiye
In addition to wholesale distribution, the mandarins are also available in 350-gram “şale” retail packs at all Bodrum Municipality cafés and restaurants. The initiative not only enhances the visibility of the Bodrum Mandarin but also contributes to local economic sustainability.
Bodrum Municipality stated that these efforts will continue with further projects designed to increase the value and recognition of the Bodrum Mandarin.
