Bodrum Municipality hosts international students at Pedasa Ancient City, blending archaeology with cultural exchange
Bodrum Municipality organised a cultural excursion to Pedasa Ancient City for Erasmus students and teachers, offering them the opportunity to discover the region’s rich archaeological heritage.
As part of Bodrum Anatolian High School’s Erasmus programme, students and teachers from the Czech Republic and Spain joined the trip designed to introduce them to the historical and cultural treasures of Bodrum.
Guided by Bodrum Municipality archaeologist Serap Topaloğlu, participants toured the remains of the ancient Leleg settlement. They learned about the site’s historical layers and cultural significance, gaining insights not only into the history of Pedasa but also into the broader archaeological heritage of the Bodrum Peninsula.
A Blend of Learning and Teamwork
To conclude the visit, students took part in an orienteering activity set within the ancient site. This exercise encouraged teamwork and provided an engaging way to reinforce their new knowledge while exploring the landscape.
At the end of the programme, participants received Bodrum information booklets prepared by the Municipality’s Press and Public Relations Department.
Mayor Tamer Mandalinci underlined the municipality’s commitment to promoting the city’s history both nationally and internationally, noting that such initiatives help build cultural bridges while safeguarding local heritage for future generations.
