MUNICIPALITY TEAMS ADVANCE STREET SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE

The project, carried out by the Directorate of Civil Works, also includes maintenance and repair of drainage grates

Bodrum Municipality has been carrying out extensive manhole elevation works to ensure safer and more accessible streets, with over 560 manholes already raised to road level since August.

The project, undertaken by the Municipality’s Directorate of Public Works, addresses manholes that had remained below street level, posing risks for vehicles and pedestrians.

560 Manholes Elevated

So far, works have been completed in Akyarlar, Bahçelievler, Turgutreis, Gümüşlük, Koyunbaba, Geriş, Yalıkavak, Dirmil, Torba, Kızılağaç, Gölköy and Gündoğan, with a total of 560 manholes adjusted.

Currently, operations are ongoing in Gündoğan, and will continue in other neighbourhoods according to the municipality’s planned schedule.

Drainage Grates Also Renewed

In addition to manhole elevation, teams are carrying out maintenance, repair and renewal works on drainage gratesacross the district. These improvements are designed to enhance road safety, prevent flooding and ensure smoother traffic flow.

Bodrum Municipality has emphasised that such infrastructure upgrades are part of its broader strategy to modernise public services and improve daily life for residents.
