BODRUM MUNICIPALITY SUPPORTS SCHOOLS AHEAD OF NEW ACADEMİC YEAR

Comprehensive improvement works were carried out across 35 schools, with additional support in bursaries, stationery and zero-waste education


As in previous years, Bodrum Municipality has carried out a wide range of renovation, repair and maintenance works in schools across the peninsula in preparation for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Renovation & Maintenance Across 35 Schools

Municipal teams completed maintenance and refurbishment in 35 schools, including repairs, painting and the production of new cupboards, benches and picnic tables.

In parallel, the Directorate of Parks and Gardens undertook landscaping and pruning works in 24 schools, while the Directorate of Senitation Affairs carried out comprehensive cleaning in and around 13 schoolyards. The Directorate of Technical Works also rebuilt the demolished boundary wall at Gölköy Ahmet Naci Coşkunoğlu Primary School.

In addition, the Support Services Directorate continues to provide water supply support to schools when needed.

Zero-Waste Education & New Courses

From October, environmental engineers from the Municipality’s First-Class Waste Collection Centre will deliver zero-waste training sessions in primary and secondary schools. Meanwhile, joint programmes organised with the Public Education Centre will continue to provide a variety of courses in different fields.

Canteen Inspections for Student Health

To ensure healthy nutrition in schools, municipal police teams have begun inspections of school canteens. These checks cover hygiene conditions, product expiry dates, storage practices, price lists and business licences.

Bursaries & Stationery Support for Students

Alongside physical improvements to schools, Bodrum Municipality continues to support students financially. Through the Social Services Office of the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs, successful students living within the municipality’s borders will receive bursaries: 5,000 TL for primary school students, 6,000 TL for secondary school students and 7,000 TL for high school students

Applications remain open until 19 September at the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs in Konacık (Seyit Onbaşı Street No.10). Further information is available via the municipal call centre at 444 00 48.

Ahead of the school year, the Municipality also distributed stationery support packages to 950 primary, 350 secondary and 200 high school students.
