Fines of TL 50,000 and TL 75,000 issued for illegal disposal of construction debris in Çırkan and Gürece


Bodrum Municipality has reinforced its zero-tolerance approach to environmental pollution by issuing significant fines against individuals and vehicles found dumping construction waste illegally.

Offenders Caught in the Act

During routine inspections in Çırkan Neighbourhood, municipal enforcement officers apprehended a resident filling public waste containers with construction rubble. The individual was fined TL 50,000 under Article 41/4 of the Misdemeanours Act.

In a separate incident, officers identified a vehicle illegally unloading rubble into a natural area on Göktepe Street in Gürece. The vehicle owner was fined TL 75,000, also under Article 41/4.

Continuous Monitoring and Public Appeal

The Municipality’s inspection teams, in addition to their regular duties, are conducting civilian patrols to prevent pollution and protect the environment. Authorities confirmed that monitoring across Bodrum will intensify, with a focus on both urban and rural areas.

The Municipality has called on residents to actively support these efforts by reporting any individuals or businesses engaged in illegal dumping or other environmentally harmful activities.
