The Battle of the Commander-in-Chief was not only a military victory, but also the rebirth of a nation. This victory was achieved through sacrifice, perseverance, and unshakable resolve.

For 103 years, the voice of this victory has echoed proudly. It is our duty to keep its spirit alive, to pass it on to future generations, and to uphold the principles of equality, freedom and justice. I commemorate with respect and gratitude Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, and I invite all our citizens to join us on 30 August to celebrate this historic triumph together.”

The municipality emphasised that this year’s Victory Day celebrations will unite the city in remembrance, pride and festivity.
