BODRUM MUNICIPALITY STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY SUPPORT WITH WOMEN & FAMILY SERVICES

Bodrum Municipality’s Directorate of Women and Family Services has launched a new series of outreach activities across the district, aimed at supporting women, children and disadvantaged individuals while promoting greater social awareness.

Awareness Campaigns in Public Spaces

Municipal Teams set up information stands at various locations including Bodrum Covered Market, the neighbourhood markets in Müskebi, Bitez and Mumcular, as well as municipal cafés such as Mahfel, Amiral Turgutreis and Torba. At these stands, citizens received information about free psychological, social and legal counselling, as well as guidance on healthy nutrition.

In Müskebi, the campaign was joined by officers from the District Police Department’s Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women Unit. At Turgutreis Amiral Café, bilingual brochures prepared in Turkish and English were distributed, reaching both local residents and international visitors.

Mayor Mandalinci: “Solidarity Is Our Strongest Power”

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci said:

“For us, the most valuable strength lies in the solidarity of women and families. It is this unity that allows us to look to the future with confidence. Together, we will build a happier, safer and more inclusive Bodrum. We will continue to work for a city where women can freely express themselves, access support and shape their futures with confidence. We welcome everyone to visit our stands and learn more about our services.”

Women’s Consultation Centre and New Projects

Beyond public outreach, the Women’s Consultation Centre continues to provide free legal advice, social services and psychological support. In partnership with Bodrum CV, employment support is offered for women and young people seeking job opportunities.

Meanwhile, the newly established Çiftlik Women’s Life Centre provides opportunities for personal development and vocational training. Starting in September, a new project in collaboration with Bodrum Public Education Centre will introduce a wide range of courses and training programmes designed to further strengthen women’s skills and participation in social life.

Bodrum Municipality affirmed that these outreach and support services will continue at local markets, municipal cafés, town squares and harbour areas across the peninsula.
