Bodrum Municipality has officially opened a newly renovated 2.9-kilometre cycle and running path along Turgutreis Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard, offering residents and visitors a safe and modern space for exercise and leisure.

The project was carried out in collaboration with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality following the completion of underground infrastructure works. Mayor Tamer Mandalinci joined local residents, deputy mayors and municipal council members on a morning run to mark the opening, underlining the municipality’s ongoing commitment to sports-oriented investments.

Mayor Mandalinci stated:

"This uninterrupted 2,900-metre route allows everyone to enjoy sports at any time of day. We shall continue to create facilities across the peninsula that promote a healthier lifestyle and inspire more people to embrace sport. I extend my thanks to Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and all our dedicated municipal teams who contributed to this project.”

Coastal Renewal & Urban Design

The investment, valued at 34 million TL by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, also included hot asphalt paving across the boulevard. Bodrum Municipality’s technical teams installed 350 metres of stormwater drainage and 12 manholes, alongside pavement restoration along a 1.2 km stretch.

To complete the project, the cycle and running lanes were painted with environmentally safe materials. In addition, Bodrum Municipality’s workshops produced 28 benches, 29 waste bins, and 26 ashtrays, all placed at regular intervals along the route to improve comfort and public use.

With this initiative, Bodrum takes another step towards strengthening its coastal infrastructure and providing accessible, high-quality spaces for sports and recreation across the peninsula.
