ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY IN BODRUM

Bodrum Municipality continues to impose heavy penalties on firms that breach the summer construction ban. The Municipality continues its strict enforcement against firms violating the seasonal construction ban, which came into effect on 15 May.
Teams from the Directorate of Municipal Police (Zabıta) have intensified inspections, issuing penalties to construction companies operating on site, as well as to cement mixers and excavation vehicles carrying out work in breach of the ban.
₺10,340,000 in Fines Across 770 Cases
Inspections have resulted in 770 enforcement actions, with fines totalling ₺10,340,000 imposed for non-compliance and noisy operations, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Misdemeanours Law.
Mayor Tamer Mandalinci emphasised the municipality’s determination:
“As Bodrum Municipality, we are resolute in our fight against illegal construction across the peninsula. The municipal teams not only carry out routine inspections but also respond diligently to reports from residents, ensuring that our work covers the entire city. Particularly during the period of the construction ban, we will maintain even closer oversight.”
The municipality has reiterated that it will continue inspections throughout the summer to protect Bodrum’s environment and maintain urban order.
