Bodrum Municipality, in collaboration with local benefactors, is creating a multi-purpose sports and recreation space in Yalıkavak.

Bodrum Municipality continues its efforts to expand social amenities across the city, working alongside local benefactors to deliver new community projects.

Construction is well under way on a new sports and recreation area in Yalıkavak Neighbourhood, on a 6,912-square-metre plot of municipal land. With contributions from benefactors, the facility will include a tennis court and a basketball court, alongside the Bodrum Municipality Yalıkavak Bridge Sports Club.

The project is being supervised by the Directorate of Public Works, which is also constructing a 435-square-metre car park, a 2,080-square-metre decorative paved walking path, and a 1,090-square-metre double-lane concrete road.

The Directorate of Support Services is carrying out the electricity and water infrastructure works, while the Directorate of Parks and Gardens will complete the landscaping and create a 495-square-metre park area.

“We Will Continue to Deliver Lasting, High-Quality Projects”

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci emphasised the project’s social and communal value:

“As Bodrum Municipality, we continue to provide social amenities for residents in different neighbourhoods. This new sports and recreation area in Yalıkavak will not only serve as a sports facility but also as a social meeting point and a place for the community to breathe. It will be a space everyone can benefit from. We will keep adding value to our city with lasting, high-quality projects. We are people who want to leave behind works of substance, and our service will be through such meaningful projects.”
