Bodrum Municipality is highlighting the city’s unique character by painting public steps and streets in its iconic blue and white. From neighbourhood steps to connecting streets, Bodrum’s colours are bringing new life to the cityscape. The project aims to enhance urban aesthetics while fostering community pride.

Bodrum Municipality is enhancing the city’s visual identity and raising public awareness with its “Awareness Streets” initiative, painting selected areas in Bodrum’s iconic blue and white.

In harmony with the town’s distinctive architectural style, the project began on the steps connecting Gümbet’s Ayaz Street to Erguvan Street and has now continued in Kumbahçe Neighbourhood. Teams from the Directorate of Support Services painted 2414th Street and the steps located beneath Bodrum Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, building on earlier efforts by local residents.

The initiative aims to emphasise Bodrum’s identity while encouraging appreciation for urban aesthetics. The painting programme will continue in various neighbourhoods across the peninsula as scheduled.

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci commented on the project:

“In Bodrum, where our distinctive architecture offers a visual feast for residents, we are painting the streets in blue and white. The municipal teams are currently working in Kumbahçe and we plan to create ‘Awareness Streets’ throughout the peninsula, adding to the city’s aesthetic appeal with Bodrum’s own colours. We shall continue our work in a way that preserves the essence and natural architectural character of Bodrum.”
