YOUNG PARTICIPANTS COMPLETE THE FIFTH YOUTH & AGRICULTURE CAMP

Participants from Türkiye and abroad explored farming, culture and community in a hands-on summer programme.

The fifth edition of the Youth and Agriculture Camp, organised by Municipality’s Directorate of Agricultural Services, has successfully concluded.

Held at Garaova Agricultural Park over three separate sessions in July and August, the camp brought together local and international participants aged between 18 and 40 for a rich programme focused on farming and rural life.

Lavender Harvest & Cultural Activities Draw Interest

During the camp, participants took part in the lavender harvest, gaining first-hand experience of agricultural production processes. Training sessions at the İsmail Hakkı Tonguç Agricultural School & Museum provided a solid theoretical foundation in farming practices.

Alongside agricultural training, meetings with local producers in the Karaova region introduced attendees to unique regional products and cultural traditions. Open-air film screenings and performances by the Bodrum City Theatre offered lively entertainment, while panoramic tours showcased the peninsula’s historical and natural heritage.

At the end of the camp, participants received certificates and expressed their gratitude to Bodrum Municipality for organising such a valuable initiative.

“Strengthening The Agro-Tourism Potential”

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci commented on the importance of the programme:

“The fifth Garaova Youth and Agriculture Camp has given us the opportunity to promote Bodrum’s agricultural and cultural heritage both nationally and internationally. Each year we share the local wealth with more people, strengthening the city’s agro-tourism potential. I thank all my colleagues who contributed to this meaningful project, which connects the youth with sustainable farming methods and cultural heritage.”
