A coordinated effort between Bodrum Municipality and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality is delivering lasting improvements to the district’s roads, pavements and drainage systems.

Bodrum and Muğla Metropolitan Municipalities are working in close cooperation to improve the district’s road network, ensuring safer, more comfortable and more accessible journeys for residents and visitors.

While Metropolitan Municipal teams continue operations on streets and avenues within their remit, Bodrum Municipality’s Directorate of Public Works is carrying out maintenance, repairs and resurfacing works on concrete, paving stone and asphalt roads in neighbourhoods under its responsibility.

Addressing Wear & Tear

Bodrum municipal teams are also repairing damage caused by infrastructure works undertaken by various utilities. Current projects include landscaping and surface improvements at Yalıkavak Bridge Club.

Drainage & Gully Maintenance

Across the district, cleaning, maintenance and renewal works are under way on drainage grates and gullies. In Konacık’s Gazderesi Street, grates have been cleaned, repaired and replaced where necessary, with new grates being manufactured for several renewed streets and avenues. The Support Services Directorate is assisting with these maintenance works.

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci stressed the importance of the works:

“As local administrations, we are committed to carrying out our duties with great care in every area within our remit. Our goal is to create an accessible, comfortable and safe transportation network for Bodrum. We are in constant coordination with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and I thank all our colleagues and residents for their support.”

Major Upgrades by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality

In July 2025, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality teams carried out works in various Bodrum neighbourhoods. These included hot asphalt surfacing on the cycle and pedestrian path along Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard in Turgutreis, improving safety and comfort for both cyclists and pedestrians.

In Dereköy, major road resurfacing and pavement works were completed on the 6th, 4th, and 5707th streets, with new hot asphalt and decorative paving improving both appearance and pedestrian safety.

Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras noted:

“We continue our investments to improve quality of life across Muğla, including Bodrum, where the summer population multiplies. We prioritise citizens’ needs, working in a planned manner to provide infrastructure that ensures safety, comfort, and peace of mind.”

Comprehensive Works by Bodrum Municipality

In July alone, Bodrum Municipality has completed a wide range of projects, including paving, concrete road installation, hot asphalt surfacing, drainage works, speed bump installation and park improvements across multiple neighbourhoods, from Yalıkavak and Konacık to Dereköy, Akyarlar, Gümüşlük, Türkbükü, Çamlık and Mumcular.

The Directorate of Public Works will continue asphalt, concrete and paving projects throughout August in line with its planned schedule.
