BLUE FOR THE SEA: BODRUM’S UNDERWATER CLEANUP CONTINUES İN TÜRKBÜKÜ

Bodrum Municipality's underwater cleanup initiative, ongoing for eleven years, has reached its 9th stage this year in Türkbükü. The campaign, under the slogan “Blue Suits the Sea Best”, continued with a focus on raising awareness about marine pollution.
Organized by the Municipality’s Support Services and Senitation Directorates, the cleanup involved a volunteer diving team. The event was attended by Ibrahim Özten, a member of the Bodrum Municipal Council representing Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, as well as Türkbükü Neighborhood Head Yücel Ertuğrul and municipal staff.
During the cleanup, a total of 98 kilograms of waste was removed from the seabed. The collected waste was displayed at Türkbükü Public Beach to raise awareness, before being brought to the Konacık District's Class Waste Collection Center for recycling.
Ibrahim Özten thanked the team for their efforts, noting that the reduction in waste each year is a source of pride. Türkbükü’s Neighborhood Head, Yücel Ertuğrul, also expressed his gratitude to Mayor Mandalinci and the municipal staff for their support.
The 10th phase of the underwater cleanup will take place on July 16th at Torba beach.
