FREE SWIMMING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN BEGIN IN BODRUM

In collaboration with the Bodrum Maviada Water Sports Club, Bodrum Municipality has launched free swimming courses for children aged 5 to 13. The initiative, organized under the slogan “No Child Left Without Swimming”, officially began on Tuesday, July 1st, at the Binnaz Karakaya Indoor Swimming Pool.
Children participating in the programme will be taught by certified instructors from the Bodrum Maviada Club, combining physical activity with summer fun and productivity. The courses are designed to run throughout July and August, accommodating around 1,000 children over two months.
Deputy Mayor Kanat Hasan Özsert attended the opening day and emphasized the municipality’s commitment to sports and youth development. “This programme, organized with Maviada Sports Club, will serve more than a thousand young athletes. Under the direction of Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, we continue to offer free courses and sports activities across many disciplines”, Özsert stated, encouraging families to follow updates on the municipality’s social media or call 444 00 48 for more information.
Club chairman Emin Yalçın highlighted their target of teaching 1,000 children to swim this summer and expressed gratitude for the municipality’s support.
The courses are organized into eight groups, held in alternating three-day sessions across six days each week, ensuring broad access and regular training throughout the summer.
