Bodrum Municipality has launched a new series of support programmes aimed at empowering women accross the region. The first session, held at the Çiftlik Women’s Life Center and organized by the Municipality’s Directorate of Women & Family Services, attracted strong participation from women of all ages.

The two-hour programme covered a range of topics, including legal rights, mental health, social services and nutrition. Women received direct guidance on challenges they face in everyday life. Legal advisor and acting director of the department, Atty. K. Gözde Çakıroğlu, provided information on women's rights and protective laws such as Law No. 6284. Clinical psychologist M. Seray Akdoğan İlter explained the differences between psychotherapy, psychologists and psychiatrists through an interactive session. Dietitian K. Miray Aker Esen addressed healthy eating and body mass index, while sociologist Berrin Ak highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, employment and social support systems.

Çakıroğlu emphasized that similar programmes would continue in other neighborhoods, underlining the importance of building trust and showing women that they are not alone.

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci voiced his strong support for the initiative, stating:
“Our vision is a Bodrum where women are stronger, more informed and more active in every part of society. These support programs will raise awareness and improve the quality of life for women while contributing to our collective social well-being. We will continue expanding these efforts for the benefit of women, children and families across Bodrum.”.
