23.05.2025

Organized by Bodrum Municipality's Department of Culture and Social Affairs, a series of “Author Meet-and-Greet” events brought together hundreds of young readers with children’s book writers on May 21–22 at the Yalıkavak Public Library.
The first event, held on May 21, featured author Sinem Ulu Güleryüz, who spoke to 400 students from Yalıkavak Neşe Doğan Primary School. Güleryüz shared insights about the writing process and the art of storytelling, encouraging children to nurture their imaginations and the habit of reading. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions about her books and explore the library's collection.
On May 22, young author Kenan Demir introduced his book “Keno Prens ve Maceraları (Prince Keno and His Adventures)”, created with the support of the municipality. Around 300 students from local schools attended the session, where Demir explained how his childhood dreams turned into stories. He also signed books and answered students’ questions.
Mayor Tamer Mandalinci emphasized the importance of such initiatives, saying;
“Bringing children together with books and authors is very meaningful to us. These events not only enrich the libraries but also inspire the young minds who represent our future. We are committed to transforming libraries into vibrant spaces for imagination and learning.”
