UNITED FOR A RENEWED BODRUM: INFRASTRUCTURE AND ROAD WORKS CONTINUE IN TURGUTREIS

Bodrum and Muğla Metropolitan Municipalities are working hand in hand to improve infrastructure and road conditions in Bodrum, setting a strong example of inter-municipal cooperation.

In Turgutreis, the two municipalities have joined forces on Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard, where major asphalt paving and renovation efforts are currently underway. The paving phase, covering a 2,900-meter stretch with an investment of 34 million TL, has been completed by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality. In parallel, Bodrum Municipality teams have begun extensive maintenance and improvement operations.

During his on-site visit, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci thanked all those involved in the project, including Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras and field personnel.

“We shall continue to collaborate, generate ideas and implement joint projects with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality in every area that addresses the people’s needs”, stated Mayor Mandalinci.

Mayor Mandalinci also emphasized the importance of recent road upgrades in other areas, adding: “Under the direction of Mayor Aras, a 5-kilometer asphalt paving was completed between Dereköy and Gümüşlük, including Peksimet. That road, which sees heavy use, had become seriously worn over time. Thanks to this investment, citizens can now travel safely and peacefully.”.

Touching on the ongoing improvements in Turgutreis, Mayor Mandalinci noted that after the completion of infrastructure works, Bodrum Municipality teams began further maintenance efforts, including 350 meters of new stormwater drainage lines and 12 storm grates, as well as curb restoration along a 1,200-meter section.

“With ‘the feast of the sacrifice’ holiday approaching, we have delivered a road where citizens can travel safely and comfortably” Mandalinci said.

Mayor Mandalinci also announced that works on the bicycle and pedestrian paths along the boulevard will commence immediately after the holiday, led by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipal teams.

“The municipal teams are constantly in the field with me, working together with our citizens, municipal council members, department heads and deputies”, he added. “We are committed to continuously improving public welfare. Our strongest ally in this mission is Muğla Metropolitan Municipality. We shall carry on with joint efforts that serve the best interests of our people.”
