The 6th edition of the Bodrum Maritime Museum’s annual children’s art competition concluded with a vibrant award ceremony and exhibition opening at Metreküp Venue - Bodrum on May 10, 2025. Organized under the theme “Sea Vessels”, the event was sponsored by Midtown Shopping Center and welcomed guests from local institutions, schools and the art community.

The competition, open to primary, middle and high school students across the Bodrum Peninsula, received 244 submissions. The theme was curated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Gürbüz Beydiz from Çankırı Karatekin University, aiming to foster artistic exploration of maritime history and technology among students.

A wide array of schools participated, with 137 entries from primary level, 89 from middle school and 18 from high school students. The award-winning artworks were previously announced online on April 26.

The ceremony featured speeches, the national anthem and the presentation of certificates and gifts to teachers and students. In attendance were representatives from the Municipality of Bodrum, Bodrum Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Shipping, local sailing clubs and university faculty, alongside families and media.

All participating students had their artwork displayed in the exhibition, which sparked joy and pride among the young artists and their families. The show remains open to visitors at Metreküp Bodrum until May 19, from 12:00 to 18:30 daily. Those who missed the ceremony can collect their participation certificates directly from the Bodrum Maritime Museum.
