BODRUM WELCOMES RAMADAN WITH UNITY, ABUNDANCE & COMMUNITY SPIRIT

As the nine-day Ramadan Feast holiday approaches, Bodrum is preparing to welcome both locals and visitors with a strong sense of unity and hospitality. The municipality has ramped up efforts across all departments to ensure a smooth and joyful holiday period.

In the lead-up to Eid, the municipality hosted communal iftar dinners in 26 different neighborhoods, drawing thousands of residents together each evening. Continuing a cherished 39-year tradition, the city also marked the Night of Power (Kadir Gecesi) with a pre-dawn sahur gathering in Türkkuyusu neighborhood, which saw significant participation.

The municipal services, especially the cleaning, technical works and support services departments, will remain fully operational throughout the holiday to keep the city clean, organized, and welcoming.

In a heartfelt message, Mayor Tamer Mandalinci shared his reflections on the month of Ramadan and the significance of the upcoming Eid celebration:

“In this blessed month of Ramadan, a symbol of unity and solidarity, we shared our tables with our citizens in a spirit of abundance. We are happy to have brought together our community for iftar dinners throughout the month. Across Bodrum Peninsula, in various neighborhoods, we came together with the people to break our fasts and experience the spiritual peace of Ramadan as one.

On Sunday, March 30, we shall once again embrace one another with love as we celebrate another Ramadan Feast, the ultimate expression of togetherness and sharing. On these beautiful days, when resentments are put aside, tables overflow with abundance and love and tolerance prevail, I hope we can all share in the joy of Eid with the unique spirit of Bodrum.

It is my greatest wish for this holiday to highlight our collective conscience and sense of justice, values that are the cornerstone of every society.

I sincerely thank all those who cherish Bodrum, protect its natural beauty, preserve its cultural richness and uphold fairness. I hope we can share the hope, joy, and excitement that both the holiday and the summer season bring.
