Bodrum’s Eco-Friendly Move: 146 Tons of Scrap Sent for Reuse

146,600 Kilograms of Scrap Collected for Reuse
Bodrum Municipality is making a significant contribution to the national economy and defense industry by recycling obsolete materials. As part of its sustainability efforts, the municipality has sent 146,600 kilograms of scrap materials to the Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) Scrap Management Directorate.
Municipal teams, operating under the Support Services Department, collected and categorized various materials in accordance with the 28th article of the Movable Property Regulation. The collected scrap included: 141,890 kg of medium-grade iron and steel, 10 kg of radiator copper, 2,350 kg of iron-containing aluminum, 30 kg of textile waste, 570 kg of scrap tires, 300 kg of scrap wood, 1,410 kg of miscellaneous unpriced materials
The materials were handed over to MKE teams for processing, ensuring their contribution to the circular economy and reducing waste. This initiative highlights Bodrum Municipality’s commitment to sustainability and resource efficiency.
