Respect For The Elderly Week: A Heartfelt Visit From The Municipality

Honoring the Elderly During Respect for the Elderly Week

Bodrum Municipality is spreading warmth and care to elderly residing in Bodrum as part of Respect for the Elderly Week (March 18-24). In an effort to support and engage with the elderly, municipal teams visited residents aged 75 and above in their homes, ensuring their needs are met and reminding them that they are not alone.

Coordinated by the Field Solutions Team and Health Services personnel, these visits aim to raise awareness and improve the well-being of elderly citizens. During each visit, representatives conveyed Mayor Tamer Mandalinci’s heartfelt greetings, listened to residents’ concerns and assessed their needs.

Beyond Respect for the Elderly Week, Bodrum Municipality conducts regular home visits to elderly citizens throughout the year. In the first three months of 2025, teams visited 559 senior citizens across 56 neighborhoods, gathering feedback and directing necessary support services to the relevant departments.

Mayor Tamer Mandalinci reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to ensuring a high quality of life for the elderly, stating:

“the elders are the pillars of our society. Through these visits, we aim to show them that they are valued and heard. Their wisdom is not only a reflection of experience but also a guiding light for the future. We will continue mobilizing our resources to enhance their well-being and ensure they receive the respect and care they deserve.”
